Working It.

Yesterday I spent a lot of time on the innernet. A ridiculous amount of time. But that’s not how my day started. Oh no. My day started with packing up an order to ship out before my planned venture to the Letterpress shop. Somewhere around the time I finished packing up the last of the boxes, K called to inform that the shop had four inches of water in it. Apparently the basement that comprises the Letterpress shop and the Machine shop had flooded due to a “clogged drain”. I’m going to venture a guess that seeing as how only a handful of people even know that those shops are down there, and access is incredibly limited to their restroom, that the source of the water is not a clogged drain. Perhaps the construction crew that is working on the library addition hit a water pipe. Just a thought.

Anywho, work in the shop wasn’t happening, but we still had a few errands to run for the shop. So, we ran them and I was off to finish up my tasks at the studio. Insert innernet here. I got online to ship the boxes. And check my email. After I got done delivering the boxes to FedEx, we had a family meeting of sorts to discuss this marketing workshop that La Duchess went to last weekend. There was lots of embracing of new technology and social networking involved. Ugh. If it will help us sell pots, I’ll do what I have to. The good news is that La Duchess will be handling the upkeep of these things, all I have to do is create the accounts and whatnot. So I spent the rest of the day creating Twitter accounts, and Mudpuppy Studios pages on FaceBook, and updating Le Duke’s YouTube page, and looking at images of kittens wearing hats. It’s the innernet after all.

Then I came home and tried to express to a 16 year-old that Geometry is important to the workings of life. I don’t know how well that worked, but whatever. It is important, dammit. Wanna cook food using radio waves? Wanna make the two stroke engine on your Japanese scooter run properly? Wanna find out how big your flat screen television is using only the side measurements? Wanna make indirect measurements of things far too large to measure with a ruler? All of these things are easily handled using equations that snuggle under the umbrella of Geometry. Face it, your comfortable life is total shit without Math.

Then I spent a good deal of my evening on the innernet. Most of my time was spent digging through recipes on the Crock Pot Girls website. They pretty much tell you how to cook everything in a slow cooker. Their FaceBook page has way more recipes both by them and others, but I cannot access that. I didn’t lose sleep over it. Rest assured. I did find some goodies that are definitely going into the “Recipes to Test” pile.

In addition to food related stuff, I also ordered some more liquid for my fake cigarette, and looked at humorous things. Things like this not really safe for work video:

Yep. The innernet is full of things like that. Well enough about the webs, I’m off to work it. And I’m talking about laboring. More soon. ~SC
