I Stopped Listening After The Word “Buttress”.

Greetings from Memphis. Our trip was relatively uneventful. If by uneventful you mean did not succeed in getting me killed. Less than half an hour after we left Lippincottonia, Le Duc was already pulled over by a state trooper. Surprisingly, it was not for his driving. Apparently he forgot to put the renewed sticker on his license plate. It was all smooth sailing until our pit stop. Then La Duchess took over driving.

If I thought Le Duc was an awesome driver, then La Duchess is definitely in the running for second place. She too loves to straddle the center line, but her technique also includes signaling left and changing to the right lane. And cutting people off at the last second before the exit runs out. I, in turn received the brunt of other drivers’s anger since I had to follow her.

We finally arrived safely at the Pink Palace around 2:30pm and started setting up the booth. Booth setup completed around 5pm, we headed over to the Kroger (no longer a Schnuck’s) to get some supplies. Our hotel doesn’t have normal hotel stuff, shampoo for example, but it has a kitchenette. What have I gotten myself into?

Oh, Le Duc just informed me that we need to get ready to go. I’ll try to tell you more about our exciting PBS viewing later. Just know that the bible is full of magic and that the Penguin is a criminal genius who loves Cheese Whiz. More soon. ~SC
