Mornin’.

I’d like to start off today’s post by wishing two great big Happy Birthdays to Word to Me and Jackie the Mick. Be sure to wish them each one today.

In other news, Le Duke will be playing up at Terra Studios tomorrow (the 20th) from 2-4pm. If you are up that way, be sure to stop by and check it out.

Yesterday at work I spent the first third of my work day unloading the kiln and grinding the pots that came out of it. It was cold outside. The second third of my work day was spent assembling and packing orders. The final third was spent shipping those orders and “helping” Le Duke get the gallery organized for next week’s home show. By helping, I mean that I carried boxes in and out of the gallery and, in general, looked busy.

After I left work, I came home to discover that Kingston had been catnapped and there was a vanilla petit four in his place. It is not often that someone kidnaps your child and then pays you a ransom. Not to worry, I had arranged this all with Pancake Land beforehand. We’ve been talking about her taking Kingston over to hangout with her for a weekend for weeks now. One thing or another has put it off. Until now. Let’s just say that Eazy is soaking up as much dad time as possible right now. He’s too laid back to fight for my attention, which Kingston takes up most of anyway. So he’s seized his chance to lie in my lap for the past 18 hours. He’s just purring and making biscuits like nobody’s business.

What did I do last night? Well, it was way more productive than I had intended. The first thing I did was make something horribly disgusting and delicious for dinner and finished watching Sorcerer’s Stone. Then I paid almost all of my bills. There are two that take a few more days to show up, so I’ll have to wait to pay them. After bills, it was off to a special assignment that my boss at the City Wire, Mike Tango, had given me.

You see, we (all of us employees at the City Wire) were supposed to make an appointment to have headshots taken for official City Wire usage on the site and whatnot. Well, seeing as how I have no car and also how I’ve missed a bunch of work this week for dentist appointments and bank runs for Jesus and whatnot, I told Mike Tango that I couldn’t make it. It wasn’t so much a lie as much as it was unfair to the Le Duke. Robbing Peter to pay Paul sort of thing. Anyways, M.T. and I had made arrangements for me to just shoot my own headshots. I couldn’t resist pushing the envelope a bit, so I asked if he wanted a serious one or a silly one. He said to give him both. You got it, Boss.

Here’s what I managed to do:

Serious.

and…

Silly.

Not bad if you ask me. What do you guys think?

What’s on the agenda for today? I can guarantee that were doing something for Word to Me for her birthday. I think I might have finagled it so that I get an article out of her birthday dinner. Other than that, I don’t have much of a plan for today.

Maybe I’ll bundle up and go lie in my hammock and read a book. The question is, what to read next? More soon. ~SC

Curious, what did you make that was so delicious and disgusting? Also, go with silly every time.
