I would like to start out today’s post by wishing good luck to Pancake Land who is competing in a bass fishing competition today. Be sure to send her some good fishing doogies to help secure her victory.

Yesterday was both productive and totally lazy. I slept in, ate some breakfast, made a post, and waited for Word to Me to show up. What does waiting for my mom to show up mean? Watching Star Trek, of course. She showed up and we headed over to grab Prince Jazzbo. From there we headed to the abandoned umbrella factory on the outskirts of town. Just kidding. But, I almost told you where we went for lunch and that would spoil the surprise.

Anywho, we met Teacher Sis over there. She needed a break from working a silly little thing called her “masters thesis”, whatever that is. After lunch we split into two teams: the getting gas and going to see Jesus team and the going to the bank and Target city team. Guess which team I was on. After T.S. and I hit the bank and deposited a stack of checks I’ve been collecting, we headed for Target city. I had the full intention of buying another flannel shirt, but just couldn’t bring myself to pay full price for it. Patience. Soon it will be on clearance.

I did finally buy Connect 4, though. It is pretty difficult to find a regular version of the game, let alone a regular version that is not $15-18. It was on sale for 10 bucks, so I grabbed it. Then it was off to find pots. As I stated previously, I had decided to buy new cookware a while back and throwing most of Prince Jazzbo’s away gave me the perfect opportunity to do so. Now, the matter came down to which ones. There were huge sets for under a hundred dollars and small sets in the upwards of 8 hundred dollars. What I ultimately picked was a set that replaced my current set piece for piece. Well, almost. I had 13 pieces, the new one is 13 pieces. Close enough. Plus, the new one is sexy as Hell. The pots are all curvy. Here take a look: click me. Granted, that photo is of the stainless steel and I got the hard anodized, but whatever. The shape is the same. Curvy bottom. And as most of you know, I love me a curvy bottom.

Moving on. So, I got my new pots. Hooray! As I unpacked them, I decided to read the “use and care” information that came with them. Turns out, you shouldn’t put them in the dishwasher because “the harsh detergents will erode the hard anodized exterior”. First world problem. I can’t put my fancy cookware in the dishwasher. It’s not a big deal because I wash most stuff before it goes into the dishwasher anyway.

This morning I got up and used the first of my new cookware. I thought it would only be appropriate to make Papa sandwiches in them this morning. I am going to have to get used to how they cook, that’s for sure. They heat very evenly, which is something I’m not used to. Challenge accepted.

What am I doing today? I plan on writing my article for this week if time permits. My real plan today is to rig up my hammock for the first time since I got home with it over a month ago. Other than that, nothing. Maybe Star Trek. Anywho, I’m off to it. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. More soon. ~SC
