A Serious Lack Of Batman Religious Paintings.

I really wish I was one of those painters who can paint like the old masters. Then I would do paintings of Batman like those done of Jesus. Batman on the cross. Batman ascending to heaven. The Madonna with Bat-child. The possibilities are endless. Imagine every painting ever done of Jesus and now imagine Batman there instead. Yeah, there’s a lot and it’s overwhelming to think about. Maybe I’ll just start looking for images of Batman in the condensation on freezer doors at the grocery store instead.
Yesterday I broke the buying ban again and picked up Frank Miller’s “Batman: The Dark Knight Returns”. It is the bible of the church of Batman. At some point last night Christmas, better known as Grismas, got relabeled Batmas. I’m currently reworking “Twas the night before Christmas” in my head to be about Batman. If I ever manage to finish it, I’ll put it up on here.
Yesterday was a day of running around with no real purpose in sight. It was kind of fun, but relatively unfulfilling at the end of the day. Of all of the places we went to only come home with a Batman graphic novel felt like I got robbed a little bit. Not enough to turn on the Bat-signal, though. I think my general mental state was pretty good after a day of eating pizza, shopping for clearance, and catching up on Bones.
What am I doing today? It’s back to work for this guy. I’ve got to write this week’s article at some point. I’ve got make a menu, and subsequent grocery list. I’ve got to go grocery shopping. I’ve got to watch Star Trek.
Oh, I almost forgot. Le Duke has got some music gigs today, so if you aren’t busy you should check them out. Hold on a sec while I find the flyer La Duchess sent me… Ah, found it:
Yep. Well, I’m going to get to it. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. More soon. ~SC
