I Live In The Clouds.

Yesterday was a long day. I was very frustrated. Not that anything at work was irritating me, it was just that my fake cigarette was being flinky. And when the thing that helps you not be irritated starts being flinky, it’s frustrating. You know?

Overall, not a bad day though. I made a metric crap ton of soap and butter dishes. I unmolded and cleaned up one of the theater blocks. I shipped out Danny Royale’s Grismas presnents. I resolved a computer issue for La Duchess. It was a productive day at work. I then borrowed the van and went to buy the week’s groceries. I normally buy groceries on Sunday, but that whole Grismas thing threw a wrench in my plans. And then there were people in my house and I just couldn’t get away.

One thing that I picked up at the store that is way more important than Cheetos is a new Wii remote. The fancy one with that Motion Plus business in it. You need the fancy stuff for the new Zelda game. After grocery shopping, I spent a little time getting to know my Wii. And by that I mean deleting a bunch of shit off of it, to make room for better shit. I then took the first step in what is going to be a long journey. I started the adventure of the Skyward Sword. It’s the 25th Anniversary edition and it came with an audio cd of the Zelda symphony. Heeeeeeee!

One thing that I have learned about myself from last night’s little trip down Wii lane is that I’ve got a long way to go before mastering the Wii remote. As it is right now, I look like I’ve got some of that Parkinson’s. Not to mention that I’m very very used to my controls being on one piece of plastic held by placing both of my hands in front of me. This each hand has a different controller and one whips around while the other pushes buttons and toggles joysticks, well it’s confusing me. But I’ll eventually get the hang of it. Let’s just say that I won’t be playing games in front of very many people for a while, though.

I feel that I need to mention something, or else risk hurting feelings. Since I’ve mentioned my other gifts, I feel it would be unfair to not mention another, especially since it is so precious to me. Back Alley Trey got me a record for Grismas. Not just any record, mind you, but the Dismemberment Plan’s “Emergency & I”.

The Dismemberment Plan is, if nothing else, the band I have seen the most times in concert. There will always be a big tract of land in my heart for that band. And BAT got me my favorite album on vinyl. And for that I am eternally thankful. Unfamiliar with the Dismemberment Plan? Here, have a taste:

The last time they played around here, before they broke up years ago, their play list was all based on audience requests. You would raise your hand, grade school style, and if they picked you, you would say your request and then they’d play it. That was the song that I requested. “You thought you might need a little change, and now you find you’ve got nothing but…”

Well, enough sentimental pap for today. I’ve got stuff to do. First thing this morning is coffee with one of my bosses. Then to the studio for soap and butter dish trimming. Then computer stuff and cleaning up the library so that Andi the Numbers and Squeaker have a place to sleep. Tonight, I’m heading Skyward again. Yeah, so more soon. ~SC

Skyward huh? You bring the sword and it’ll be my job to find the rim.
