Batman’s Got Five On It.

This morning, I’m going to be brief. The innernet here on Holliday Island has been dodgy at best for the past few days. I’ve been struggling with it for half an hour and seeing as how it is working for the moment, I’m attempting to make a post.

Yesterday, as I was walking home from work, I glanced down and noticed something peculiar. It was five dollars. Just lying there on the ground. Huh. That’s interesting. I don’t live in a part of town where five dollars stays on the ground for long, so I snagged it. I had to assume that Batman left it there for me. To help ease the pain of my Monday. Thanks, Batman.

I spent most of my day glazing mugs. That and helping Le Duke figure out what needs to be done before they left. Currently, the royal family is on its way to DC to celebrate La Duchess’s birthday. So, Le Duke and set about figuring out what I needed to do to keep myself busy. Ha ha ha. It’s funny because I am an expert at keeping myself busy. Well, at least I’m an expert at looking busy.

After work, I headed to class. This is when I decided that perhaps my professor is trying to kill us. We have to design an experiment to test whether or not steam pasteurization is an effective means of bio-decontamination for the beef industry. That and as a bonus assignment we have to tell him why Staphylococcus aureus would evolve a toxin (it’s Superantigen) that would potentially kill its host, when the whole point of being a parasite is to keep your host alive in order to survive. (whimper) This class makes my brain hurt. The good news is that at some point during class, Dr. G gave me a PhD. I was a doctor very briefly. Then he stripped me of PhD and awarded it to someone else. Luckily the person who got it is on my team for the lab assignment. We’re still okay. We still have a fighting chance. Next week, we’ll be designing a second part of the experiment and then the following week, we’ll be running the experiments. Oh, Batman, give me strength.

Okay, well I’m not going to push my luck any more this morning. I’m off to another busy day of clay stuff and letterpress. May the Bat be with you. More soon. ~SC
