Dancing The Night Away.

Hey everybody! It’s Caturday. And my new article finally went up on the City Wire. Click here to read it: Fo’ Real.
Yesterday was a buffet of doing stuff. Most of which was concentrated in Lippincottonia. The fun really began with my walk to work in a cold mist. My hobo rich umbrella couldn’t handle the wind very well, so when I got to work a little earlier than expected, I decided I was going to go to Think Geek and buy myself the samurai umbrella. I got the Rev. Dark Wombat one for Grismas a few years ago and was pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t crappy. It was actually a really great umbrella with a sword handle. So, I went online to buy one. As the page loaded, I froze.
They sell Star Trek uniform bathrobes. I love Spock, really I do, but I couldn’t possibly buy the blue robe. It was going to have to be Scotty for me. Red for life. Then I had this whole moral dilemma about buying something so incredibly unnecessary. An umbrella I need. I walk in the rain. A Star Trek bathrobe is just awesome and nerdy and I want it. And I just got a new robe. Ultimately I just sat staring at the robes until it was time for work and wound up not buying anything.
Then it was time for me to make a theater block. I was actually remaking one that just exploded in the bisque kiln. After that, Le Duke and I moved some stuff to the new house, tried to move a mirror upstairs, failed, and I went back to the studio to make mugs. At some point I sent a mass email to our galleries telling them that we’re not going to Philly this year. Then, back to mugs. At one point I noticed that it was starting to get colder in the studio. This is when the heater stopped heating.
There’s been a rash of heater failures going around, so I figured we’d just add this one to the list and move on. Le Duke, in a moment of clarity, reasoned that the gas company must have shut off the gas to the studio because they were doing repairs to the lines down by the street. He’s so smart. Of course that didn’t stop the temperature from slowly falling over the next few hours.
Then it was time to go home. I managed to remove one of the panels of my big painting and take the bad motha home with me in the van. I returned the van and chatted with La Duchess before trekking back to Holliday Island for a quiet night of doing research. Yeah, right. I started my evening off by having Hardee’s make me dinner. I had a coupon for Buy 3, Get 3 Free buffalo chicken tenders, so I rocked that burning sensation all the way to the heartburn highway.
Sweating, pasty, and blowing my nose for the last time, I heard cars doors. Someone was at my house. It was Teacher Sis, Lord Steel Bear, and Bubba Fett. They had gone to try to see Star Wars: Episode One 3D, but it was sold out. So they came by to eat cookies and bring me presnents instead. I FUCKING LO-O-O-O-OVE PRESNENTS! T.S. had scored me a Ghostbusters t-shirt on clearance. It’s Venkman’s uniform. So, sweet.
Today is a big day. I’ve made an agenda for myself and am currently waiting for Teacher Sis to call with her agenda and we’ll combine them Wonder Twins style to formulate our adventure today. I think I’ll assume the form of the clearance rack at Target. Maybe she’ll assume the form of a sale on Kitchen Aide stand mixer accessories.
After the hustle and bustle of today’s shopping trip, we have a S.A.N.D. meeting. Tonight’s dish of choice is “seafood soup”. Nicky the Cook was quick to point out that my crawfish chowder had no “seafood” in it because crawfish are not marine, but I think he’s just scared that my dish is going to be better than his. A Ranch packet can’t save you forever Nicky.
Also tonight is Little Miss Cotton’s burlesque show in Hot Springs. If you aren’t cool enough to come to the S.A.N.D. meeting, you should check it out. She’s been working diligently on her routine, so I’m sure it’s going to be spectacular with rainbows on top. Everyone be sure to wish her luck today. Break a leg L.M.C.
Well, I’d love to stay and chat, but I’ve got shit to do. Enjoy your Caturday. More soon. ~SC
