The Whipping Post.

Hey. Guess what. It’s Friday again. We’ve survived another week. Since it is Friday, that means my new article is up on the City Wire. If you like to read it, click here: Not Beef McNuggets. If you wouldn’t care to read it, you can click here instead: Beef McNuggets.

As I mentioned a few weeks ago, I’ve been working on a very punny Daily Photo involving an artist friend who teaches at the university. Since yesterday was my last day working at the letterpress shop, I figured that if I put it off any longer, it would never happen, so I arranged the shoot with her on Tuesday and secured the location to shoot it. After many a day of you having to hold your breath, the photo is here at last. Ready? Okay:

Tied to the Whipping Post.

You probably don’t get the joke, so I’ll explain. You see, in real life my friend’s last name is Post. So, I though it would be funny to be tied to her while she was wielding a whip. Get it? Luckily, she thought the idea was funny, too. And we laughed. We don’t care if you laughed.

I want to send a big Thank You out to Ms. Whipping Post for playing along with my reindeer games and also a big Thank You to Back Alley Trey for loaning me his whip. Without you two, my idea could not have been brought into existence. Thanks!

Did you laugh? No? Well, fuck you.

So, it looks like my trip to Houston this weekend will be postponed until the 22nd or 23rd. Also, it seems that my trip to St. Louis isn’t going to happen either. It’s okay, though. I’ve got about a million things that I need to do before I leave for Japan, so I’m going to save up as much good road trip doogies as possible for that adventure.

Since I’m more than likely staying put for the weekend, I’m planning on getting a few extra restaurants under my belt, doing a bit of homework, and reading as much as possible. I don’t know if you know this about me, but I love to buy books. And for the duration of my entire existence, the books in my collection that I haven’t read far out number the ones that I have read. Must read more.

Anyways, I hope you have a wonderful weekend. I’m off to work. More soon. ~SC
