Alice Cooper Is Singing “Rock Me Amadeus” In My Head.

Man, being a grown up is so stupid. All you do is go to meetings. One interesting little factoid is that I might not be called the “Director of Tutoring and Mentoring” at the new school, but rather the “Dean of Tutoring and Mentoring” instead. I don’t think they’ll go for “His Royal Majesty of Tutoring and Mentoring” though. But, a boy can dream can’t he?

Yesterday was a day of running around like a crazy person in the rain. I started out by going to my first meeting. Then it was off to the university to take my geography final. Which I bombed, but still managed to pull an 85% in the class. Whoo! Then it was off to Lippincottonia for half an hour to get Le Duke thinking like me while I ran back to the university for yet another meeting. Then back to Lippincottonia to help Le Duke find last year’s tax return which was lost in the maelstrom of our “filing system”. This means, of course, that I found the tax return in a box of unrelated paperwork at the bottom of a stack of boxes that was buried in the “paper closet”. What can I say? I’m good at what I do.

Why all the hubbub? Ask Le Duke. Anyway, he was so happy that he hugged me and then offered to drive me home in time for my tutoring session. An hour of math and then it was time to sit back and breath deep. School is out for the spring.

After a little dinner, I settled down to finish “Nation”. Which was brilliant. Read it. And then I took a shower to let the really hot water cascade down my aching neck bones. All in all, not a bad start to the week.

Today, however, is much more exciting. Not because of the work that I’ll be doing, but because of the work I won’t be doing. At 1:45pm this afternoon, the Rev. Dark Wombat returns to us from the far east. Mwhahaha…

I won’t be there to see his stupid face walk out of the terminal with his nine foot kyudo bow in hand, because I’ll be here:

That’s right! It’s that time of year again. The letterpress shop is having the fourth annual book party (from 2pm-4pm in the Gardner Building Basement) and I had already promised them that I’d be there. And a promise is a promise. RDW will understand seeing as how I’m about to see him every day for the foreseeable future. Pathfinder anyone?

After the book party, I’m going to check in on the Rev. and see what he feels like doing. Maybe we’ll go play with our friends. Anywho, I’ve got tiles to glaze in the mean time. More soon. ~SC
