One day innernet. . .

I am going to meet you in a dark alley and I will probably stab you in da troat with a broken fountain pen. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. That’s for making me spend so much of my time getting you to work, only to check my damned email.

So, last night was another crazy night filled with a houseful of exchange students. Since we hooked the Rev. Dark Wombat’s television up over here, we figured we’d better give it a test drive with the PS3. Katamari anyone?

I was so engrossed with the madness that I forgot to upload my Daily Photo. My apologies. Here it is:

Transferring type.

Transferring type.

I spent about three and a half hours moving type from one case to another. I was thrilling work, let me tell you. But someone has to do it. And that someone is me.

When I woke this morning, after not much sleep, I discovered that the shiny, brand new cable modem that we bought two weeks ago was not turned on. That’s weird. None of the lights on the front were on anyway. So, I unplugged it. And let it rest for a minute. My thought was that maybe the shitty weather we’ve been having might have knocked the power out and the modem just needed a nice restart.

Wrong.

Apparently, the power cord is busted. So, I hop in the truck and head to Radioshack. Since it is first thing this morning and the coffee hasn’t really kicked in yet, I manage to take the cord to the store, but leave the modem sitting on the desk. Nice work, genius. The guy at the store shakes his head pityingly when I admit that I forgot the modem. Sorry, sir. I’ll just go now.

So, I did what anyone who is me does in this situation. I called someone smarter than me. In this instant, I called Jackie the Mick. He suggested that perhaps I might try using the old cord from the old modem, since they are the same brand. It’s a good thing that I am a horder. So, as you can see, it worked. Because he is smart and I am not. I would have spent $40 on something that was collecting dust in my laundry room. Thanks Jackie.

Today is a day of shopping. I am currently trying to wrangle the kids from last night together so that we can go to WalMart* and possibly some of the Asian markets. Need anything? Holla atcha boy.

After shopping, there will probably be more shopping with Teacher Sis. Then, I must level up Larry Jenkins and take a nap so that I may smite my enemies upon the mountainside later tonight. What are you doing? Nothing that cool I’m sure.

Well, the bathroom is beckoning me. Have a great weekend. More soon. ~SC
