I do love double entendre.

Happy Friday everybody. I think we all managed to survive St. Valentine’s day. Everybody except that Olympic runner’s girlfriend. What a jerk. (Too soon?)

Moving on.

If you haven’t seen them yet, Dave has uploaded the latest round of parade photos. These are beautiful. Be sure to check them out.

Hrm. . .

I seem to have lost my train of thought. Um. . .

Yesterday, I made chicken n dumplings. But not the kind yo mama used to make. These were my brand of comfort food. And here is my recipe, sort of, if you wanna try it out your self.

Chicken

Chicken Stock

Cream of Chicken soup

Carrots

Celery

Garlic

Shallots

White, Black, and Red Pepper

Parsley

Thyme

and for the dumplings, Gnocchi

The gnocchi was Teacher Sis’s idea. And it was a stroke of genius. Just add them about ten minutes before you eat or else they will dissolve and you’ll end up eating library paste with chicken in it. I kept the thickness closer to chowder rather than Ready-Mix concrete. That is most people’s tendency and I find that if it is too thick then sopping up the last bits of juice with wonderful bread becomes difficult. I like a good bit of easy going bread sopping. If you know what I mean.

And then there was this:

Rena

Today is Friday. Hooray. That means I have work to do before the screaming hordes show up at my house to watch YouTube videos. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. More soon. ~SC

  1. Dave says:

Good luck with the screaming hordes. My best advice is to gas them…no wait, arm them, and use food to bend them to your will and obey your commands.
And also thanks for the compliment G.
