And sometimes, when you go back to sleep, you have dreams about the Rev. Dark Wombat getting married and you alone are the only one able to stop the goblin horde from burning the place to the ground. And sometimes, it turns out that you are an advanced cybernetic being sent back in time to stop the goblins from creating SkyNet.

Perhaps I shouldn’t have eaten Super Nachos right before going to bed.

My plans to stay in my pajamas the majority of yesterday failed miserably. No sooner had I said that bit about being lazy and doing nothing, then Teacher Sis reminded me that I had agreed to do take some photos of the roller derby bout that evening. Which meant that I needed to take a shower and go buy groceries immediately.

Now, that I was up and productive, there was no reason to not do a bunch of house stuff and head over to Teacher Sis’s house to catch up on Bones. After the marathon of fictional forensic anthropology, it was derby time. I do love watching girls on skates beat the crap out of each other. If only I knew what I was doing as a photographer. Needless to say, I took a lot of photos. The relatively low light and the fast moving skaters meant that I just set the camera to shutter priority and pulled the trigger. An hour later I had around 2,885 photos on the memory card. Awesome.

After the bout, I got the pleasure of digging through those for the ones that weren’t just a mess of blurs. I got about 45 usable shots and only 4 made it onto this here website. Where? In other news, WBA lost miserably to Tottenham yesterday. And we even had a player, Goran Popov, ejected for spitting at another player. Between that and the Odemwingie shenanigans, the great start to the season seems like ancient history. Come on Baggies, pull your shit together.
