But, there’s trouble in paradise.

Happy Friday everybody! I’m going to let you know right now, this isn’t going to be one of the usual exciting Friday posts. It has been a strange week. And by strange, I mean that I’ve been busy doing other stuff and not working on stuff for the Friday post. There’s no new podcast. There are no new articles. Nothing. Sorry to disappoint.

But, hey, it’s February! And you know what that means? Nothing.

On a more exciting note, Little Miss Cotton actually made a post to her website! I know, right? Anywho, if you’d care to read it, click here.

In other news, I’ve just received a book that I will be writing a review on for my History of Modern Science class. I had to select a book about something to do with science and history.

We had to select our own book for this. It had to be a work of non-fiction. And it had to be at an adult’s reading level. Those were the parameters. Jeezus. That narrows it down, right? Not really. So, I started looking up books. And I finally found one that sounded interesting. It is called “For the Love of Enzymes: The Odyssey of a Biochemist”. To start with, the title intrigued me. That’s what drew me in to read the synopsis. And the synopsis started out by talking about this guy:

musashi

You wanna sell me on a book about the quest to manipulate DNA? Start out by talking about Miyamoto Musashi being a total badass. Anybody who then relates the importance of one biochemist’s journey to manipulate DNA to that of the Book of the Five Rings has just sold me a copy of their book.

So, I got the book okayed by my professor and then ordered it. And it showed up last night. So far it is pretty good. But, I’m a slow reader which means that I’m about a paragraph into it. Like I said, so far so good.

Let’s see, what’s on the agenda for this weekend? Well, I’m doing normal Friday stuff today: print shop, gym, hangout. And then tomorrow is the Roller Girls pancake breakfast from 8-10am at Applebee’s. WBA plays Tottenham, and will crush them (Boing Boing Baggies!). Then, probably a little errand running with Teacher Sis. Then, dramatic pause, I start my campaign in Pathfinder. Holy shit. Sunday, is grocery shopping and laundry. And a lot of reading.

Speaking of reading, I should probably go read my chapter for Pathfinder, since I am supposed to lead these people into battle with goblins. Have a great weekend. More soon. ~SC
