The Panther.

This is a post about the silly things I spend my time thinking about.

Last night, I let this cat out of the bag. Since all of you are going to find out eventually, I’ll let you hear it directly from the horse’s mouth. Enough animal idioms, yet? Not quite.

One day, a long time ago, I was introduced to a band called Pantera. You may be familiar with them. Not actually introduced to the band, though. Just to their music. Sigh.

At some point after being introduced to their music. I was also introduced to a wider variety of comic books other than Uncanny X-Men, which was pretty much all I read for the longest time. Anyway, at some point the Avengers came into the picture. And subsequently, Black Panther came into the picture. Black Panther’s real name is T’Challa.

Pantera means panther in Spanish. You see where I’m going with this? I doubt it.

So, there’s this song called “Mouth for War”. Is is on their album “Vulgar Display of Power” which came out in 1992. Anyway, here’s the song:

At one minute twenty six seconds, and at various other times in the song, he yells something. I know, logically, in my brain that he is yelling “DETERMINED!” but for the life of me, all I can hear is “T’CHALLA!”.

It is part of my working conspiracy that the band is all secretly Avengers nerds and therefore have infused comic book references throughout their discography. My new hypothesis leaked out last night during a comic conversation, before it could really grow up completely in utero. Or rather in cerebro.

Yeah, this is what I spend my time thinking about.

Anyway, I am going to go shower up and head to this all day derby event to take photos of sexy women in short shorts roller skating around.

Tonight, we fight shit with swords. With my fists. More soon. ~SC

I only understood about two words in the whole thing. You must be dreaming.
