With Friends Like These…

You’ll never have to dig a grave in the dark by yourself again.
Yesterday was a day that I won’t forget.
It began with an amazing trip down to Little Rock to visit with John Horn at Shooting Star Press. I was a kid in a candy store all day. I got to talk shop excitedly with other people who are equally obsessed, if not more so, with printing. John pampered us by giving us notebooks, and prints, and letting us use his Albion iron handpress. He even gave us the tour of the museum that is his house. The tour ended with us receiving copies of the book about his house and collection of art. And he sold me a set of wood type. My first wood type!
A quick stop at Whole Foods on the way home allowed me to pick up some beautiful organic, fair-trade, Mexican habeneros for to make the most evil of hot sauces with. I was on the highest of highs by the time I got home.
How quickly the universe will return to balance, though.
As per usual, Nami was whining and barking at me when I got home. I hadn’t fed the dogs all day because I was in Cloud City. I set my stuff down and headed for the back yard. It was then that I realized that Stoobs didn’t get up to greet me as usual. It was because she was dead. She was alive and well on Friday and Saturday she was dead. She died in her sleep at some point during the day. So it goes.
So, I fed Nami and wrapped Stoobs in a sheet and loaded her in the truck. Jackie the Mick, the Rev. Dark Wombat, Back Alley Trey, and Lord Steel Bear all met me in Lippincottonia to dig her grave in the middle of the night. And for their help, I am eternally grateful.
Stoobers, I’ll miss your pointed dumb face.
After that somber event, my friends decided to cheer me and themselves up by playing Cards Against Humanity. It worked.
And that’s all I have to say about that. I’m going to do my homework and taxes. More soon. ~SC

Why not bring Namie to Lippincottonia whenever you can. She and the dogs who don’t jump over the fence can play in the big yards while the others whine.
Nobody wore a Cosby sweater better. Not even Cosby.
Thanks for the inspiration Dick.

Also Thank you to all my friends that were there for my other friend Adam. Wish I could have been there, for whats it’s worth.
