A Punch Out Of No Where.

Just like Larry Jenkins.

I am going to do something that I very rarely do. I am going to give you one of Dave’s famous Musical Obsession posts. Except mine is going to be about one band. Perhaps it is my recent venture into watching both Sherlock and Elementary, but I have become a bit obsessive as of late. Especially about the things that interest me. I could play “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough” right now, but like I said a minute ago, this musical obsession post is a singular one.

The other night, I had people over for dinner. I haven’t done this in a long time. At least a month. Regardless of why I haven’t, just consider that this was the first time in a over a month and move on. I had people over. And I was listening to music while I cooked. As per usual, it didn’t take long before something that played over the radio drew SIO over to it. We share certain tastes musically. And it wasn’t long after he was drawn to the radio that we started talking about new bands.

For the record, I am so far out of the loop concerning newer bands, that I still consider Man Man and Gogol Bordello as newer groups. But whatever. The whole point of this is that SIO pointed me at this new band. And I am obsessed now.

They’re called Pirates Canoe. And you are so. Not. Ready.

They are a Japanese band. And they just played at SXSW. Once your imagination has finished running wild in all the wrong directions, it should sit down because its socks are about to be blown off.

Ready? No, your not.

Told you.

Now go pick up the pieces of your mind. It just got blown. I know. Mine did too. Take a rest and then watch this one.

You’re probably thinking that that was frighteningly like Joni Mitchell. My thoughts, too.

Now this:

Ah. So good.

Anyway. That is my musical obsession this week. Pirates Canoe.

I am off to hang out with Teacher Sis because I haven’t seen her in forever. Have a great weekend. More soon. ~SC

My Musical Obsession posts are famous? Tell that to the kindly old robotic record keeper in charge of statistics. He may not be up to speed on that one.

    I LOVE THEM!!!
