Harvey Jones?!

Damn, you’s a pimp.
With an ice rink.
Yesterday was a good day. The kind of day I needed.
I started with a heart-felt post and headed off to run a few errands with Teacher Sis. I scored copies of “Abbey Road” and “Dark Side of the Moon” on heavy weight vinyl. Then we snagged What Pear of Truth, Pretty Love River Tail, and Beer (the person not the beverage) and headed up the hill to do a little shopping.
I then proceeded to score a badass coffee mug and a hardback copy of “The Master and Margarita” by Mikhail Bulgakov at Dickson Street Bookstore (thanks Shamrock, for pointing it out to me). Then it was off to my first actual live sporting event.
The University of Arkansas “Ice Hogs” faced off with the Tulsa “Oilers”. I got to yell a lot. Krahli, Zaxxon, and… Miss Contrary met us at the game. They yelled too.
At some point I went downstairs with Teacher Sis to watch at the glass. I got tired of getting blurry photos via the protective net. I snapped a bunch of photos, but my favorite one is this:
He just looks so sad and alone. Truth be told, he was alone for most of the game. The Ice Hogs (cough…Razorblades…cough) beat the Oilers 8-5. And I might have yelled “FIGHT!” at some point, much to the ref’s chagrin.
Wrap up that awesome experience with a midnight meal at Waffle House, where the Japanese girls had never eaten, and it was good day. I got home around 12:30 and promptly passed the fuck out.
Today, is a day of house work. Trash to be emptied, clothes to wash and put away. I should probably get some groceries at some point, too.
Oh, and before I forget, this is a painting of Harvey Jones, of the Jones Center where the ice hockey took place, just so’s you understand the title of the post:
I hope all of you have a wonderful remainder of your weekend. More soon. ~SC
