And I want you to do my tattoo.

I’d like to start out this morning by wishing a very Happy Birthday to my brother, Prince Jazzbo, and also to Kodiak Kate. Be sure to wish them one as well.

Okay, here what had happened.

The Rev. Dark Wombat and I drove down to Baton Rouge on Friday so that he could visit his grandmother, whose health was fading. Seeing as how this was looking like my one and only time to visit her house, I seized the opportunity.

Poopin'.

Poopin’.

After there, we finished the drive to New Orleans, arriving sometime around 11pm.

Now, keep in mind, that the entire trip down from the Fort I had been monitoring the progress of Tropical Storm Karen as she became Hurricane Karen.

After we had settled in at the House of Steen, around 12:30am, the Rev. received an email. An email informing him that the concert, that we had just driven nearly 11 hours to see, was canceled. Sigh. With a capital S.

So, what were we to do? Trapped by what we would soon learn was a record-breaking hurricane and with nothing to do.

The majority of our Saturday was spent wandering around and eating things from food tents. And then we ate Pizza Delicious and watched Star Trek: Into Darkness and played Cards Against Humanity.

By now, you are probably wondering how Hurricane Karen was record-breaking, as I mentioned earlier. Well, given that it single handedly destroyed my weekend plans and at the time provided a light breeze and soft mist, I’d say it was pretty record breaking. It wins the “Biggest Jerk of a Storm” award.

To be honest, I know why the storm didn’t materialize. It is the same reason it didn’t rain the whole time I was in Ireland. It is because I was wearing my MW Boots of Storm’s Bane. And to think that when I bought them, I just thought they were water-proof. I obviously failed my Knowledge Arcana check and failed to Detect Magic.

In other news from this past weekend, West Brom once again drew with Arsenal 1-1. That’s right, twice now we have drawn with the current number 1 ranked team. Say what you will about WBA, and then shuddup, because we are actually playing decent football this season.

I have a bunch of stuff to share with you that has been piling up over the weekend.

Dave posted this.

Okay, I think we are caught up. I’ll get around to uploading photos of the trip at some point. More of the ordinary today. Have a great day.

More soon. ~SC
