What’s to celebrate? Why, don’t you know what day it is?!

Today is Sandwich Control Day!

That’s right, five years ago today I created this silly little website to show off all of the photos I take of myself. And soon we’ll have t-shirts to validate it. I know, right? The site is celebrating its 5th birthday. Seems like only yesterday that I had no idea how to use WordPress and now look at us. I have a very small idea of how to use WordPress.

So, I spent the majority of yesterday brainstorming how to celebrate this momentous occasion. And this is what I’ve come up with.

I am going to bombard you with stuff. Today is a day of updates. I’ll be making updates to nearly all of the silly little projects that we’ve got on the website. Photos, videos, audio recordings, random lists, etc. All will get some kind of update.

So, keep close to your social media today, because it is going to be blowin’ up with random crap. Starting now. I just got an alternate Sticker Doodle from my friend Hokmayen. He wasn’t completely satisfied with his first one, so he made a new one to replace the other. I agree with him, the new one is better. Want me to prove it? Fine:

In addition to these updates, I have something special for you. As well as a challenge for you, but we’ll get to that part in a minute. In honor of five years of taking photos of myself, I am going to recreate the five previous March 19th Daily Photos. That’s right, 5 times the Daily Photo for today only. Look out now. Things are getting cah-ray-zee ’round here. No, not really. They are just getting extra-usual.

Now, as to your challenge, this is what I want you to do. It is your turn to make a Daily Photo. I want you to recreate your favorite Daily Photo from the past five years and email it to me (sandwichcontrol@gmail.com). After all of them are in, I am going to pick the best re-creation and that person will win a prize.

What prize? Well a Sandwich Control superfan prize pack of course! This prize pack includes a SC t-shirt, embroidered patch, the first two Sticker Doodle stickers, two Sandwich Control logos stickers, 3 buttons, and your choice of one of the letterpress posters that I am working on (more on that later). That’s roughly a $50 value. And if you don’t live here, I’ll ship it to you as well.
