There’s an application for smartphones and tablets alike called Hypersleep. This app is a white-noise generator. The white-noise in question is the sound of your favorite fictional and nonfictional space vessels. I’ve been sleeping to the sound of the “firefly” only because the “starship” is a bit too complicated for me lately. A few too many bleeps and bloops for the restless.

So, you’re probably wondering why I’m up so early. I was wondering that, too. Oh, that’s right, I’m a glutton for punishment. We are working out this morning. At 6am. Because we don’t torture ourselves enough in the afternoons, we thought we’d add that little extra suffering in there by getting up at 5 in the morning.

I often wonder where my life took a wrong turn. A turn that led me here. To waking nightmares. This is what it must be like to be Batman. Just with more dead parents.

Speaking of dead parents, I haven’t watched last night’s Arrow yet. No one spoil it for me. Of course, by the time you wake up and read this, I’ll be home and cleaned up and have watched it. I will have probably already started tonight’s dinner (spicy stew), planted grass in the ever-diminishing front part of my yard, had two breakfasts, and taken a nap. I should be ready for elevensies soon.

Why am I awake again?

Oh, that’s right. You’re still asleep. You couldn’t answer me right now if you wanted to.
