What’s That Ticking?

Oh, that’s just the Metrognome.
Do you know what is awesome? Sleeping in is awesome. And that is precisely what I did on this rainy morning.
Yesterday was a productive day.
My beloved Baggies totally kicked Swansea’s ass. It is our first win since January 1. Yeah, we had a bit of a dry spell. Mostly draws, thankfully, but still it was nice to have a win.
I got a bit more podcast work done. After that, I went out and bought the supplies to start building a new book shelf in the library. I am in dire need of a new shelf since the ever-growing collection of books I’ll probably never get around to reading keeps growing. Currently, there are stacks of books piled in front of the books on the built-in bookcase. Too many for the case to hold without serious sagging.
So, I got to work building this new shelf. I got it about halfway done before the realization that the stud finder I bought doesn’t have a battery in it. I mean, who doesn’t have a collection of 9V batteries lying around?
Me. That’s who. So, I’ll finish up the shelf after my Walmart trip today. You know, once I buy a 9V battery.
With a little help from my friends, I upgraded my innernet here on Holliday Island as well yesterday. I got the new router all fired up and that made the modem very happy. Downloading and uploading to its full potential made all of its light twinkle at me. Holliday Island, now with faster innernet porn.
And of course, I had lunch with Word to Me. And of course we filled up on appetizers and took our entrees home to have for dinner.
At some point Leon Sphinx swung by the Island to buy a couple of stickers and we had a great conversation about moral erosion and butterscotch rootbeer. You should all follow his lead and buy some stickers. If you are reading this, then there’s no excuse for not buying the stickers.
I plan on working on some sort of shopping cart system for the site this week. What with t-shirts and things arriving soon.
Finally, it was time for some real world action. Lucky’s evil campaign went swimmingly. It got shaky on the murderin’ front for a minute there. But, don’t worry, we didn’t let you down. Those dwarves never saw it coming. And I drank the first of my new sodas from Atwood’s. I drank this one:
It was really good. It was just the right amount of butterscotch. If you are a rootbeer kinda person, I recommend giving it a go. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
Today is a day of finishing the bookshelf, of Walmart trips, of chores, and of relaxing. I still have this stupid knot under my shoulder blade, so I need to work on getting that to relax so I can breathe normally again.
And that’s the show for today. Try to enjoy the rest of your rainy weekend.
See ya’ tomorrow.
More soon. ~SC
