You Know What I Love?

Impromptu days off.
That was yesterday. But, we’ll get to that.
I’d like to start off today’s post by wishing a very Happy Birthday to Kevi. Be sure to do so as well.
I was all set to work all day and get even sweatier and grosser than Monday. And my boss told me to skip it. She was tired from Monday. She didn’t have to twist my arm or ask me twice. I went right to making kimchi.
Well, actually, I went straight to breakfast with Teacher Sis. A word to the wise, don’t eat the deep-fried breakfast burrito covered with gravy at Calico County for breakfast if have anything else to do that day. It will only slow you down. I speak from experience.
I also picked up a bocce set. For $6. I do love summer clearance at Target.
And then I made kimchi. Or rather, I resumed my kimchi experiments. I made a round of kimchi Brussels sprouts. I made a batch of New Mexico chili kimchi. I also made a “garden mix” kimchi out of broccoli, cauliflower, and baby carrots. Plus I got the new fridge plugged in and fully stocked with 6 boxes of baking soda to try to eliminate the horrid smell of chain-smoking geeters.
In addition to making these experiments, I did a bit of reading on the science of fermentation. Fascinating stuff is you know words like: Lactobacillus, alkaline, pectin, and hydroxide.
Good stuff.
Speaking of good stuff, Weird Al released another video in his 8 Videos In 8 Days series. Here is Day2’s:
Yeah. That one goes out to all of you who are really irritated by people’s improper use of the English language.
And on that note, I’m going to do a bunch of push-ups.
See ya’ tomorrow.
More soon. ~SC
