The Apple Doesn’t Fall Too Far From the Other Apples.

Or something like that.

Before we get started talking about my overall desire to live on an Eastern Canadian island, I’d like to wish a very Happy Birthday to King. Be sure to wish her one as well. Or suffer the consequences.

Today’s post is going to be brief. Because I am a busy adult with many important things to do. One of them being to drink more coffee. Hot coffee. Because it is beautifully, wonderfully, fantastically chilly this morning. I have big baggy pants on and everything. It’s awesome. They are the dude equivalent of a long dress. When I stand up, no fabric touches my lower half except at the waist. It’s pretty bitchin’. Oh, and the flannel button-up shirts I get to where! It’s heavenly.

Yesterday, I spent the day with mi familia. I know that I have a lot of traits from my Papa. My crooked nose. My devilish good looks. My slightly different sized left leg and foot. My poor eye sight. My proceeding forehead. I realized yesterday that I got a lot more than physical traits from him.

Papa.

Papa.

He’s also photogenic.

Oh, and weird. Don’t forget weird. He takes great joy in showing me the staples that the doc put into his face after they cut cancer out. Simply because he knows that I am just as fascinated in the fact that there are staples IN HIS FACEĀ as he is. He always prefaces the displaying of said staples with the phrase “Wanna see something cool?”.

I’d show you a photo of my Nanny too, but she forbade me from photographing her. I told her I was going to take her picture anyway and she something to the effect of “Like Hell you are.” Nobody believes me when I tell them that she taught me all my swear words. She has lived with and tolerated a sailor for over 60 years. She has a verbal arsenal, people. And I’m her favorite, so she’s only used it with me around I guess. Plus, I managed to do things as a child that precipitated the use of such an arsenal.

Anyway. Grandparents. They’re pretty awesome.

Today is Sunday. That means I’m doing house stuff. Like Dobby.

Go do something. Stop reading the innernet and enjoy this beautiful day. I am going to.

See ya’ tomorrow.

More soon. ~SC
