All This Soup and No Mouth To Eat It With.

Guess I’ll just have to put my butt in it.

Just kidding.

It wasn’t soup.

It was three pounds of beans.

I slow cooked them all day yesterday.

And now that Nicky the Cook has mentioned cornbread at me, I’ll be making that as well.

We spent Saturday kicking ass in the backyard.

Once we got our asses in gear…

On Sunday the kids were gone most of the day.

And it was rainy.

So Jitterbug and I bounced back and forth between puttering and reading.

We got all sorts of stuff done.

We even rearranged the living room.

Which meant we needed to give it a test run…

We like it so far.

I’m sure we will be fine tuning it all the way up until we completely rearrange it again.

In addition to all our work that we did and the beans I cooked, I read the fourth volume of LOW, the rest of Revolver, Diabolical Summer, The Nobody, and Please Destroy the Internet.

And then I started volume zero of Polar and Atomic Empire.

What’s awesome and super frustrating is that for every title I read I then end up adding five more titles to the iPad. Because the writer and artist from book X have done Y. And the writer from X also wrote Z, Q, and P. And the artist from X worked on D, E, and F. And on G with Jeff Lemire or Matt Kindt or Sean Murphy.

Coddammit.

I’m never gonna get caught up.

Between the mainstream shit that’s coming out, the indie stuff I’m catching up on, and both coming out of the rest of the fucking planet nonstop.

It’s times like this when I end up stopping for a moment to reread Murder Falcon or SEXCASTLE.

Because I fucking love those books.

I need to start Tom King’s recent Heroes In Crisis. His runs on The Vision and Mister Miracle were really fucking great.

I should probably reread those, too…

Fuuuuuck.

Okay.

Today is Monday.

And 4/20.

Fire it up!!!

Or whatever it is you stoners say.

I’m going to work.

See ya’ tomorrow.

More soon. ~SC
