Ignorance Is Bliss.

I refused to listen to the radio this morning for fear of having another one of my favorite people turning up dead.

Speaking of dead: Sandwich Control:17 Mice:0

So there is this Asian market near our house, and Pancake Land and I have been saying we were going to go in there and buy food for a while now. But, we haven’t. So, yesterday, we sucked it up, quit procrastinating, and went in there. It was excellent. There were lots of strange and exciting animal products, such as, fruit flavored beef jerky. We wanted to get something to make for dinner, but we ended up being the stereotypical white people and we bought a case of instant soup and some coffee. Stupid kwai lo. Well, in my defense the coffee was Cafe du Monde, and it was on sale for $3.59. Being of the gaijin persuasion, we departed the Asian market and went home to make our instant soup only to discover, big surprise, limited Engrish instructions. I let myself down, a little, when it called for 400mL of hot water and I could not convert it off the top of my head. Damned U.S. standard measurements.

Thinking about measurements, I wonder if there is a Joy of Cooking in metric format. Upon searching for a metric version, I discovered the Joy of Cooking website. Awesome. I also found one copy of an European edition for $26.50. Wish Listing it now.

Well, there’s the work bell. And with that I’m off. More soon. ~SC
