Eleven Boys, Two Girls.

So, do you remember the Sharpie Liquid Pencils that I mentioned a little while ago? Well, guess what. I got some. My WalMart* has them for $4 for a two pack. Since the tragic loss of my mechanical pencil’s lower half in Baltimore, I have been stuck using crappy Bic disposable pencils. Not anymore. Pancake Land and I each have our very own Liquid Pencils. I also picked up a three pack of the twisty ones so I can use the hundreds of erasers that Teacher Sis scored me at one of those post back-to-school clearance runs that she made. It’s like pencil Heaven in my house right now.

Well, it would be, if there weren’t all of these ridiculously cute kittens everywhere. That’s right. Pancake Land returned Hobbes and Indiana to the Humane Society while I was in Baltimore. After her visit (wisdom tooth extraction) at the dentist yesterday, she was feeling kind of down. What better way to cheer her up than to bring home four new foster kittens? Wanna know the craziest part? They are all boys. That means, of our 13 fosters, we have had only 2 females (Betty and Cheyenne). So, I guess you want to see them. You are so not ready for this cuteness. You’ll have to give me a minute to take some photos of each of them. Please hold… all right, I’m back. Are you ready? Meet our four new (temporary) sons:

Jinx.

Kingston.

Leopold.

Moses.

Aren’t they just the cutest shits you’ve ever seen? Wait until you see then pounce on something or do that rear up on two legs batting thing. Ugh, so cute. Anyway, we were worried when we first saw them that we wouldn’t be able to tell them apart because they’re coloring is so similar. (I’m not so dumb as to mistake a gray one for an orange one, Thank you.) But, as it turns out, one of each of the pairs is short haired and one is long haired. So easy. It won’t be nearly as bad as the constant question of “Which one is Betty and which one is Dexter?”. When we got the new boys they were overrun with fleas. So, that means baths all around. And spraying. Why stop there? A round of wormer for the bunch. After delousing and their medicine, it was off to the Kitten Concentration Camp for rec time. I’m sure they feel like they were in county lock up and they got transferred to some maximum security prisoner of war camp. Needless to say, Eazy is pissed. Between his own doses of wormer and flea spray, I got him a collar with a bell (which irritates him) and there are four new kittens in his house. So, lots of puffy tails these days for me and mine.

Well, I’ve got a bunch more to tell you, but I don’t remember any of it right now. Plus, I’ve got to go get ready for my haircut. More soon. ~SC

What do you think of the Sharpie pencils? I haven’t heard many good things.

  2. They are all right. It acts sort of like a ball point pen in that it does not start writing immediately. The line is also super fine on the ones I got, because I was so excited to find them that I forgot to look at all of the important normal writing utensil things, like line width. They are totally worth the $4 at WalMart* just for use in crossword puzzles.
