A Cold Day On Holliday Island.

So I’ve made 295ish mugs. I busted ass all day yesterday making mugs and helping Le Duke and Zaxxon hang the ceiling drywall in the new kitchen. Then I put the Impervius charm on my busted up old hobo-rich umbrella and trekked home in a drizzle. I deserved a big helping of breakfast for dinner for being such a hard worker. Prince Jazzbo popped by to pick up a bag of stuff and chatted with me for a little bit while I ate. After he left, I noticed something odd.

The house was kind of cold.

I thought that perhaps I’d take a shower and a cold house would not do for getting out of the shower. Maybe I’ll turn the heater up a little before I take a shower, so that the bathroom will be nice and toasty when I get out. Then I discovered why my house felt cold. The thermostat read 67°F which was 5 whole degrees below what it was set at. Dammit. When it rains it pours.

I flipped switches on and off a for a bit. No dice. So, sighing, I called Teacher Sis. The whole crew came by the house and Lord Steel Bear crawled under the house in the pouring rain to look at the heater. He’s such a nice guy.

After about half an hour of testing stuff he pronounced it busted and T.S. and I ran to the WalMart* to pick up a little space heater so that I don’t freeze to death in the night. I also got a new robe. Luckily, Spring as come early. Or rather Fall just turned right back into Spring. We’re having a mild Winter, to put it lightly. It’s rained a couple of times. It even got below freezing a day or two.

Is this going to stop me from going to the races today? No. We’ve talked (read as: begged) Prop Ninja and Zab’z into hanging out at the house today whilst the HVAC guy thinks about coming by to look at my busted ass heater. Will he show up? Who knows? The point is, I’m off to the races.

Wish us luck. More soon. ~SC
