I Have Feelings And You’re Hurting Them With Your Jedi Mind Tricks.

Yesterday was a long day. But, in a good way. The day started with cookies for breakfast. Then I made the daily post and got dressed and ready to go on my adventure. My boots had seen better days, so the time had come for me to suck it up and buy a new pair of shoes. Good shoes. I’m on my feet so much and I walk considerable distances everyday, so I needed a pair of good walking/running shoes.

I ended up a getting a sweet pair of light gray/charcoal/yellow Nikes at Shoe Carnival. They were on clearance, of course. As soon as I saw them, and saw that they were in my size, I sort of knew those were the ones. I was just drawn to them. It dawned on my later that they are Batman colors. Everything made sense after that.

Then it was off to le Target for a clearance run and to hunt for a new microwave. You’ll never guess what I found on clearance. A microwave. Batman obviously saw me representin’ the faith in my new kicks, because he totally gifted me with a $60 microwave for 35 bucks.

I also scored replacements filters for the refillable K-Cup that the Royal Family has. Of course, they lost the filter for it eons ago, so no one has been able to use it for regular ground coffee in a while. Now I can stop drinking instant coffee and enjoy the good shit again.

After my hat trick of scores, Teacher Sis and I came by the house to drop off some stuff, to make room for more stuff, and I found this waiting for me:

Now, mystery envelopes freak me out a little. It’s sort of a 50/50 shot. This could be something totally awesome. Or it could be a subpoena. Who knows? The only way to find out is to open it. Luckily, it was something awesome. Peep it:

I couldn’t think of a better surprise. Well, maybe an envelope full of magic and wishes and dreams and money. That could be pretty awesome. Anyways, we didn’t stay too long at the house before heading back out to do some grocery shopping.

That trip was relatively uneventful. If you don’t count this guy:

After all of our shopping fun, I came home to put away all of my new stuff and groceries and to prepare my mind for what was about to happen in my office. But more on that in a minute.

I had unpacked my new microwave, when it dawned on me that I have no idea what to do with the old one. Do I just throw it away? I mean it’ll fit in my trash can, but I don’t know if the garbage men will get all uptight about me putting a microwave in the trash. So, for the mean time:

In case you cannot make out the words on the post-it note:

At some point between setting up microwave tower and sunset, Taco Planet came by to drop off a desk. He needed to get his desk out of his old apartment and I volunteered to take it off of his hands. It’s a nice desk and I couldn’t let him throw it away or something. But, dammit, I forgot to give him this jar of sushi rice that I’ve had for him for ages.

And then all of the sudden it was time for Teacher Sis and Coach Dolphin to get drunk in my office and talk about their students. I think it went well. Perhaps we had imagined that it was going to be more exciting and energetic, but we realized at some point that we were just sitting around and talking not dancing to loud music with a bunch of other drunk people, so of course the mood was going to be more subdued. Overall, pretty funny stuff. I’ve got to piece together some parts and send them over to Dave for editing. I think we managed to get three episodes worth last night. Not bad for 2 podcast virgins.

Today is Sunday which means that I’m just wearing my robe right now. I’ve got to write my article and work on some of my many projects, but for the most part, I’m just robin’ it. I hope you’ve had a wonderful and eventful weekend. More soon. ~SC
