Perhaps It Is Your Destiny.

Just as it is my destiny to one day be Kato.

Hey, guess what. We made it to Friday.

So, yesterday went from normal Thursday to a world of pure imagination all because I joked about being a butler. And then it stopped being a joke. Sort of.

The conversation all started when my student added me to his contacts in his phone under the name “Alfred”. The implications of this, on his part, being that I am his life coach, advisor, sage, dude who handles stuff, etc. The implications from my perspective, is that he is Batman. Which is simply. Not. True.

In our situation, he is more like Britt Reid and I am more like Kato. No insult meant by that. It’s just that he’s not Batman. And the Green Hornet/Kato is the only other dude and his butler crime fighting duo I could think of. Plus, in this scenario, I get to be Bruce Lee.

And who doesn’t want to be Bruce Lee?

At some point in a conversation about my future plans, it came to light that there are butler schools and, if I were so inclined, I would be encouraged to attend one. I love my job.

So, I will be spending part of today researching butler schools. I’ll also be researching schools that are not so ridiculous. Most of which will be short programs that issue me a certificate at the end of the course showing that I am proficient in, say, first aid or survival or fundamentals of photography or killing a bear with an improvised weapon, preferably a table leg of some sort. Quarter staffs are free, yo.

So, there’s that. In addition to countless other things that I did yesterday.

And Marvel Girl’s birthday festivities were a big hit. I love the people at the Cookie Company. They always enable our whimsy:

Tomo

Yes, that’s Snoopy riding a unicorn. They are the same people who made the cookie cake with a kidney flying out of a treasure chest for Back Alley Troy’s birthday.

What’s on the agenda for today?

Well, I have workout, of course. At some point this morning I am going to get a massage because my back and shoulders continue to be wrecked. On a similar note, I ordered and received a new stool for my office. One that magically aligns my spine so as to make me sit with proper posture at the computer. It is so worth the money. I actually found one for less than that one and it came with free shipping.

And this happened:

It’s good for us.

Okay. I’m outta here. Have a great weekend.

See ya’ tomorrow.

More soon. ~SC
