In It To Win It.

In the Game of Naps, you win or you…
Zzz…
Hm?
Sorry.
I fell asleep.
I’d like to begin by wishing a very Happy Birthday to Le Duc. Be sure to wish him one as well.
Yesterday was a rainy and sleepy day.
I took Miss Betty to the airport at like early-as-shit o’clock. She’s off to see her most bestest friend.
So, I was up early yesterday. After I got the gal dropped off, I came home to eat breakfast and take my pills. Because I’m an old man.
Anyway, my pills making me a little sleepy for about 15 minutes after I take them. Sleepy is not the right word. High. That’s a better word. My head is heavy. The world gets kinda swimmy as wave after wave of not-giving-a-shit washes over me. Add to that, delicious thunderstorms and me being up early, and it didn’t take long for me to find myself in bed again. It was like 9:03am or something. I could take a 20 minute nap. That won’t hurt anything. Just a little cat nap…
Cut to 2 and half hours later and I wake up dehydrated from sweating under a down comforter that I thought was a good idea when the house was balls cold at 9am. Now that it’s nearly noon and the thermostat has turned itself up to a million degrees, I nearly died. Okay, so I’m exaggerating. I was sweaty and gross and oh, so thirsty.
After drinking a couple of glasses of water, I proceeded to finish reading “Wyrd Sisters” after what seems like a year or more. I started it after I finished “the Silkworm” and that came out in June of 2014. So, probably close to a year.
Ridiculous.
So, now I’ve started “the Martian”. My goal is to read it before the movie comes out in early October. Which is perfect planning because the new Robert Galbraith comes out in the middle of October. And I’ll be heading to NOLA at the beginning of that month, so plenty of reading time in airports.
Speaking of which, I booked my flight to New Orleans yesterday. It’s official, I’m going. In for a penny, in for a pound.
But that’s a long time from now.
There’s so many other things to deal with first.
Like the Unexpected Arts Festival, the opening gala of which I’ll be printing at.
And then there’s that 5k that Miss Betty talked me into running next weekend.
And work.
And all these push-ups that I should probably go get started on.
Loads to do before I can Meow the Jewels.
I’m off to it. Have a great week, dorks.
See ya’ tomorrow.
More soon. ~SC
