I’d like to begin this April Fool’s Day post by wishing a very Happy Birthday to the deeniest of deens, Steenie! Be sure to wish him a happy one, too.

Yesterday was a strange day.

My bank run got cancelled. Work was minimal. I spent most of the day working on photoshoots for the first week of April.

Which we are in now.

Three months down.

That’s crazy talk.

In the late afternoon, I met up with Marvel Girl and Pear of Truth to take the Daily Photo. Using a combination of black magic, cleverness, and modern technology, we ended up using Marvel Girl’s camera which can sync to her phone allowing me to use the phone both as a viewfinder and as a remote trigger.

The cool thing is that there’s no range issues like a standard remote. My remote has to be less than 20 feet away to work. The phone communicates with the camera via the cell network, so you can be forever away from it. The only down side is that there’s a lag.

Nonetheless, that’s how I got yesterday’s shot…

I figured it was about time I stepped the game up a bit. I’ve been doing it a little at a time over the past week. I’m pretty pleased with the results. But I’ve still got a whole bag of tricks up my sleeve.
