Happy Radio Day!

Yesterday was all Monday.

Through and through.

And then it just stopped.

Jitterbug, Gabb the Blabb, and I were able to just hang out after dinner and read.

For like two hours.

It. Was. Awesome.

I made it about two thirds the way through Jimmy Corrigan: The Smartest Kid on Earth. This book is insane.

Imagine if Jesus Christ were a crazy, homeless person (which he kinda was if you really stop and think about it) and he was trying to tell you a parable in a weird stream of consciousness/Quentin Tarantino kind of way. Against your will.

But it’s just about an awkward dude not ever having a relationship with his father and awkward generational racism.

I really need to write reviews of comics.

I’m making it sound way cooler than it actually is.

I really want to love this book.

I love the art style. It’s part newspaper strip comic, part graphic designer’s wet dream, part madman’s diary.

Everything I could want in a comic.

In theory.

In practice it is fucking difficult to read, barely coherent, and ADHD as fuck.

Which all kinda sound like the same complaint, but they’re not. Read it for yourself.

You’ll see what I mean.

I am hoping to finish it today.

I’ve got a check up with my doc this morning and that usually buys me some reading time.

Work errands after that.

Maybe a nap and more reading before Aldis’s baseball game tonight.

I’m gonna go put some real pants on for my doc’s benefit.
