Of the juju in your brain.

The word of the day is: Juxtapose.

[ juhk-stuh-pohz, juhk-stuh-pohz ]
verb (used with object), jux·ta·posed, jux·ta·pos·ing.
to place close together or side by side, especially for comparison or contrast.

You know how movie buffs geek out when all the Academy Award and Golden Globe nominees are announced and they scurrying off to watch everything they haven’t seen yet.

That’s how I felt yesterday, for the first time ever, after seeing the nominees for the Will Eisner awards.

It’s probably because I’ve read a handful of things on the list and they were all great.

So my brain did the math.

(These books were good.) + (Other books on list with books I liked.) = (I will probably like those books, too.)

Stupid brain.

I have enough shit to think about right now.

The last thing I need is MORE comics to investigate.

I’m overwhelmed by books right now as it is.

Now there’s a chance the little three-day-weekend camping trip I’ve been trying to put together might be turning into a ten day backpacking trek across fucking Iceland.

Not that I’m holding my breath on that actually happening.

Way too many ducks need to line up before I can even think about getting excited about it.

I’ve had similar carrots dangled in my face only to have them dematerialize as soon as I got my hopes up.

Fuck that.

I’ve got too much going on right now to spend any energy fantasizing about hiking adventures under the Northern Lights.

If it happens, then I’ll get excited.

As for now, I have bigger things to consider.

Like why haven’t I got another cup of coffee in my hand right now?

See ya’ tomorrow.

More soon. ~SC
