The Windmill Girl.

I was awoken this morning to the sound of everything on top of one of the bookcases being knocked to the floor. Thanks Kingston. Really.
Well, it’s Friday again and that means my new article is up on the City Wire. If you’d like to read it, click here: Diamond in the Rough.
The other night I had a dream. The important part about that statement is that I actually remember the dream. It was full length feature film dream. From opening to closing credits. And it starred Gene Wilder. It was about this artist commune in the 60s. Gene Wilder played a young painter. At some point he makes this announcement that he will marry the most wild woman in the bunch. It is presented as sort of a challenge to the ladies to prove their worthiness to marry him. I’m doing a poor job of making it out as artsy fartsy as it was in the dream, but believe you me, it was pretty flamboyant.
Anyways, lots of chicks try stuff to catch his eye, but his attention is ultimately caught and held by this quiet little French woman named Claudette. She is doing some sort of “performance piece” involving her being somehow attached to the blade of the giant Dutch windmill that the commune uses for grinding grain (I guess). Anyways, the rest of the movie dream is flashes of the remainder of their life together. Key points in their story if you will. The interesting thing about the whole dream is that it is told sort of Pulp Fiction style. All chopped up and out of sequence. There wasn’t a big finale or anything at the end of the dream, but I just thought it was interesting and weird enough to share it with you.
Yesterday was rather productive. I went to the bank for Jesus. After that I returned to Lippincottonia to glaze pots and move refrigerators in the rain. Today I will be teaching some kids to hand build, packing the Royal family’s Grismas presnents, and firing the big kiln. Maybe make some theater blocks in the down time. Le Duke and La Duchess have an engagement this evening, so I’m stuck with the kiln until it gets done firing. It is a good thing I’ve got my backpack. Well, I guess I’d better get to it before it starts raining again. More soon. ~SC
