Getting Molecular.

Yesterday was a day of balancing acts. I spent the day balancing on a wire of Saturday anomalies. The odds that both Word to Me and Teacher Sis would be participating in two different foot races on the same day, pretty bad. But, alas, they did yesterday. This bumped my haircut to the afternoon which is weird for me because I always get it cut in the morning. And I bought a Bluetooth headset for my cell phone. (Hey. Shut up. I got it for $3.) By the time last night rolled around, I needed to do something normal.

So I played with the molecule kit that I got in Tokyo. I’ve wanted a molecule kit forever and when I saw them at the gift shop in the National Museum of Science and Natural History, I had to get one. This is what I built last night:

I’ll give a dollar to the first person to tell me what that molecule is.

Speaking of Science, Dave (Professor Danger) pointed out that I never told you the results of my Food Chemistry experiment. You know, whether it was delicious or not. Well, if you hadn’t guessed it, dumping a whole can of Easy Cheese into a pasta dish made it awesome. Next time we’ll add sour cream and onion potato chips. The kind crushed under a scooter tire.

In addition to playing with molecules, I worked on podcasts. Well, one podcast in general: Falcon’s Reacharound. That’s the stereotypes campaign that the Rev. Dark Wombat and his cohorts are playing in Pathfinder. When I was in Japan, I recorded about 8 hours worth of them playing and have cut it down into 16 30 minute episodes. At some point during the game we had the 5.9 earthquake which was recorded alongside the huge nerdity.

Today is a day of sitting in front of the computer and typing. I’ve got an article to write. I’ve got lab reports to put together for Food Microbiology. I’ve got to finish this post. After I get all of that done, I might read or take a nap. Who knows? But right now, I’ve got a wicked poop knocking at the back door.. Enjoy the rest of you weekend. More soon. ~SC

P.S. Please see comments for hints about the molecule.

  1. Taco Planet says:

If only I knew what those colored blocks meant…

  2. Black is Carbon. Red is Nitrogen. Pale gray is Hydrogen. Also, the longer joints represent double bonds and the shorter joints represent single bonds.

  3. PancakeLand says:

    Nicotine.

  4. Nope. But that’s a good guess.

  5. We have a winner!
