Hi.

Today’s song is “Hot Cheese” by MU330. Or “MUBBO” as That Cherry Girl once infamously called them. This song is being brought to you today, not by TCG, but by Cassattack. You have no idea how much I appreciate her putting this song on the playlist. It is one of the few, if not only, ska songs that made it on the list. So, thank you Cassattack. This rudeboy skank goes out to you.

Yesterday was a day of waiting around. Mostly I spent my waiting around time plotting my revenge on whatever motherfucker gave me a cold. It started with a sore throat that just got progressively worse throughout the day. I dosed up on DayQuil, so hopefully it won’t effect me too much today.

At some point yesterday I shot the Daily Photo.

This project is really making me be creative again. It’s quite refreshing. Yesterday I started experimenting with effects achieved by physically manipulating the lens. Not in any harmful way or anything.

You might remember years ago when I did a brief series of portraits all shot by sliding an empty paper towel tube over my lens. Scroll down about halfway through page 4 of 2009 General Photos and you’ll see the “Peephole Hole Series”. That’s what I’m talking about.

Anyway, yesterday I started attempting to recreate a similar effect. You know, to create the illusion that you were peering through a peephole at me knocking on your door. Since there was no way for me to set up the camera looking through the peephole and subsequently take the photo of myself through the door.

These are the things that force me to get creative.

Anyway, while I was playing with ideas, I ended up cutting a paper plate (the one I used for breakfast) in half and wrapping it around the lens. This is one of the better shots I got with it…

I love the scalloped edge and the swirl. This will be investigated further.

I also spied this love nest and had no choice but to document it…

It’s like the Cerberus of adorable.

At some point, I fell down a YouTube rabbit hole and found this…

Both of them are brilliant. Make it a point to watch these today. They’re totally worth it.

I probably should go get my pitiful workout over with. Pitiful because I’m pitiful with this cold. I don’t do sick very well.

After workout I’ve got to figure out what I’m doing today. Other than being a big baby.
